Chanel holds a BA LLB from the University of Pretoria. After completing her articles in 2024, she made an unconventional move into finance recruitment, where she developed a broader understanding of the commercial realities businesses face. She later joined a renewable energy company as its sole legal counsel, supporting several African entities.
Her experience covers commercial contracts, service agreements, employment law, compliance and corporate governance. Joining a business without an established legal function gave Chanel the opportunity to create processes and procedures that helped teams progress deals more quickly and with fewer mistakes. This experience strengthened her ability to find practical solutions to complex legal and commercial challenges while building trusted relationships across a business.
Chanel was drawn to Radiant’s technology-forward approach and its willingness to work differently from traditional firms. She is particularly interested in how Radiant uses technology in commercial contracting, as well as its commitment to continuous improvement and the Mindful Business Charter. She brings a genuine passion for commercial law, practical problem-solving and collaborative working.
Outside of work, Chanel can often be found hiking and enjoying nature. She also loves travelling and has backpacked through several countries.
