Kauthar holds an LLB from Nelson Mandela University and an LLM in Intellectual Property Law. She began her career at Von Seidels, one of Africa's leading intellectual property law firms, where she specialised in trade marks and advised clients on protecting, managing, and enforcing their intellectual property across multiple African jurisdictions.

Working across both trade mark prosecution and litigation gave Kauthar an appreciation for the full lifecycle of legal risk. It taught her to think beyond the immediate issue, anticipate challenges before they arise, and balance legal protection with commercial realities. She is also a strong advocate for plain language, believing that good legal advice should be clear, practical, and easy for clients to act on.

At Radiant, Kauthar brings that same thoughtful approach to commercial contracting. She enjoys understanding how businesses operate, helping clients navigate risk without creating unnecessary complexity, and building agreements that support strong, lasting commercial relationships.

‍Outside of work, Kauthar spent more than ten years practising mixed martial arts and was crowned South African National Women's Weapon Kata Champion in the Black Belt Open division, wielding nunchucks. She also enjoys chess, roller skating, travelling, and scenic drives, and is passionate about nature conservation, animal welfare, and giving back to her community through regular food drives across Cape Town.
